PERSPEX UPDATE

After putting most of the elements onto the large piece of perspex, im not sure this can work. Here are my reasons:

The colours i have chosen to use in my work are very specific and i can't get these colours in perspex. Not having the same colours as the other posters will change the aesthetics completely and the meaning behind the posters. Each note should be replicated by the same colour so to throw in one or two odd colours wont work.

It has been difficult to cut the perspex to the sizes required, simply because the tools i have access to aren't very delicate. I think without the 'drips', the poster doesn't hve the same effect and again, the drips echo the fluidity of the music and are integral to this poster design.

All in all, i think throwing the poster in the midst of other poster that work well with each other is going to jepordise the successfulness of the exhibition and im not willing to risk that.

Yes initial i wanted it to be more tactile but this is not the most important element, the most important thing is to make sure that you can see the music and by keeping all posters digitally printed, this will be acheived.

It was a good learning curve working with the perspex, but unfortunately, it wont make one of my final pieces

perspex cont....

A look at how the perspex poster is coming on. Im pretty happy with it, although i think the glue may have ruined one tiny piece, need to try and rub it down or something. I'll be back in the workshop friday
