a few sketchbook pages realised

Im not sure what colors to go for. Whether to keep the musical elements the same colour or an array....im guessing they should stay as an array as thats how synesthetes generally see. I like the off-white background....more to come
This depicts 15 seconds of the song

Some info graphics about the synesthete population. 1 in 2000 people have synesthesia, can you spot the one blue line out of the 2000?...yes there are 200 lines here

bit more

......

Mr Barnbrook said : "small things done really well are better than big things done badly".....i will bare this in mind throughout the next few weeks :0)

fmp progression

So, had a bit of a crap week not getting anywhere but then looked at a few animations that were a bit more info graphic based and have decided this would be a good route to take, after all im supposed to be showing people what the world is like through their eyes. still going to try and stick with a journey theme along the way. a very short clip of the start of the animation...you will notice the colours come when the glasses are 'on'. very raw but a start....

www.codeorgan.com

Not directly FMP related but this is quite cool. You type in a URL and it generates music based on the coding of that site......

FMP UPDATE...

So, my initial idea was to take a song and break it down note by note to show how a synesthete sees the word but i have come to realise that this isnt the best way to show their visions. Instead, i am going to base my FMP around one central animation. The animation will take the viewer on a journey, through different landscapes, incorporating the individual notes but focusing more on depicting how you might see different landscapes if you have sound colour synesthesia. Im definitely more confident about this approach. I will update with some tests asap
